Aside from our focus on academic subjects, we also have Religion classes in each grade and a quality daily physical activity program. In the area of technology, we are a one-to-one device school for all grades and have Chromebooks and iPads available to our students. We offer extra-curricular athletics in the sports of cross-country, volleyball, basketball, badminton, curling and track & field. We also offer swimming lessons to Kindergarten to Grade 6 students. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Fine Arts activities such as school choir and acting in our annual Advent concert.
Christ King Catholic School was opened in the fall of 2003 and came from very humble beginnings. Parents in the Stettler area had a desire for their children to receive a Catholic Education and put in many tireless hours in order for a wonderful little school to be opened in which their children could be educated. The school was opened in a small space in the Stettler mall where students and staff quickly became part of a tight knit family community. As the school grew, more space was needed, so in the summer of 2005 we moved in to our current location. Once here for a couple of years renovations were done to the building in order to accommodate our continual growth. CKCS has served the Stettler community for almost 16 years.
Christ King continues to foster the small family feel and any one who enters our doors feels comfortable and at home. The staff at Christ King strive to educate our students in Catholic Christian values while encouraging all students to be the best version of themselves. CKCS is committed to helping all students achieve at high levels, build community, and grow in relationship with others through Jesus Christ. It is along with that purpose that we strive, in all aspects of their education, to create a safe and caring environment for our students to learn and grow.
